Founded 1947 was an air medical transport service operating a private airport serving Albuquerque, New Mexico on the Black family SevenBar ranch. In 1982 acquired Sun Valley Aviation in Idaho. From 1987 started operating at Albuquerque International Airport until 1993 when moved to Dallas. In 1999 acquired Four Corner Aviation in Farmington, New Mexico. In 2008, its locations at Albuquerque, Farmington and Sun Valley where acquired by Atlantic Aviation. In 2010 began its medical helicopter service which was launched in 2015 with LifeFlight of Maine. In 2016 started operating medical services for University of Virginia and University of New Mexico.

In March 2019, headquartered in Dallas with nearly 100 employees operating bases in New Mexico, Texas, Maine, Massachusetts, Virginia, and North Carolina was acquired by AMGH (now GMR) and merged with Med-Trans
