Ecocopter, November 20, 2024 - Santiago de Chile - Active forest fires in the country are a cause for concern for citizens living near forests and vegetation, so it is essential to be on alert against the spread of fire to avoid damage and human casualties.
In response to the growing threat, Ecocopter+Helisul is deploying five H125 B3 helicopters to strategic points in Chile. These helicopters will be located in Coquimbo Region; Valparaíso Region; Maule Region.
The H125 B3 helicopters are known for their flight capacity and safety, making them an effective tool for fighting forest fires. Equipped with fire extinguishing systems, these helicopters can fly at low altitude, have power, stability, speed and the capacity to release 1,000 liters of water per drop, in addition to transporting firefighters, which allows them to operate in extreme conditions, including high temperatures and difficult terrain that provide a fast and efficient response to any emergency.
Francisco Arriagada, Commercial Manager Ecocopter+Helisul, said "We are committed to the safety and protection of communities in risk areas, even more so when the forest fire season is a challenge we face every year and the rapid response and high maneuverability of the H125 B3 helicopters ensure efficient intervention, even in the most difficult to access areas,"
For this season, which began in September, operations in forest bases in strategic locations, aerial combat and the transfer of firefighters in helicopter missions are essential to extinguish the fire efficiently and quickly.
“ We are supporting various public and private institutions to fight the fire. Our helicopters, equipment and specialized crews are on alert to support extinguishing the fire and prevent it from spreading,”
The use of helicopters to fight forest fires is an essential component of the national strategy, due to the speed and agility with which these teams can reach the most inaccessible points. The collaboration between Conaf and the private sector strengthens the response capacity to forest fires in Chile, ensuring that communities at risk receive the necessary assistance in a timely manner. This joint effort is an example of the commitment to environmental protection and public safety.
