Airbus Helicopters, July 25, 2016 - Aersud Elicotteri, agent and distributor of Airbus Helicopters, formally handed over the first VIP Version of the H145 Mercedes-Benz to the Italian market, after the distribution of two similar aircraft to an important Turkish customer.

The H145 MB embodies the VIP version of the twin-engine H145, which has successfully entered into service in Italy with more than 10 aircrafts, in just one year after its first introduction.

“The first delivery of a new version of the H145 is an important milestone for our company,” said Riccardo Aichner, president of Aersud Elicotteri. “The H145 has already proven its reliability with HEMS [helicopter emergency medical service] operators, and it enlarges its operational capacity to an important segment of the Italian market.

“Actually its outstanding performances make it interesting for the corporate/VIP segment.”

The H145 MB is at the top of its class in the twin-engine medium-sized helicopters. Compared to other models, this helicopter offers exceptional flight performance and a high level of customization.

The Mercedes-Benz style exclusively differentiates the new version of the H145. The interiors have been entirely realized in Italy by the Mercedes-Benz advanced design studios of Como and by the Mecaer Aviation Group (MAG), located in Ascoli Piceno.

The prestigious VVIP cabin offers new ergonomic seats in high-quality leather, real wooden floor and a new LED light concept that contributes to the elegant and welcoming interior atmosphere.

Thanks to its unrivalled modular interior, the H145 Mercedes-Benz style offers extreme cabin arrangement flexibility for a broad range of travels.

For increased in-flight comfort, the H145 MB is equipped with an active vibration control system, a climate control in the different areas of the cabin and an improved infotainment system with in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity.

The cockpit has three large displays running Helionix avionics suite providing full pilot assistance and situational awareness. In line with other Airbus Helicopters models such as the H160, the H175 and the H225, the H145 is also equipped with the most advanced four-axis autopilot, which offers high flight stability and automated takeoff.

The H145 is proving to be a very successful model that has already accumulated more than 18,000 flying hours, with an average availability of over 90 percent. Today, some 60 helicopters are already serving in 14 nations.

Airbus Helicopters offers the most extensive range of helicopters dedicated to the private and business aviation segment and is the market leader with 33 percent of the fleet currently in service.
