Forca Aerea Brasileira, April 09, 2018 - The Air Mission Planning Software (Sistema de Planejamento de Missões Aéreas, PMAII) was developed by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) Advanced Studies Institute (Instituto de Estudos Avançados, IEAV) and integrated into the EC725BR/H225M Caracal helicopters operated by the Navy, the Army and the Air Force.
Last March representatives of Airbus Helicopters (Helibras), the Commission of Coordination for the Combat Aircraft Program (COPAC), the Institute of Industrial Development and Coordination (IFI) and the IEAV together with the aircraft operators met in Taubaté, São Paulo in order to perform the pre-qualification tests of the helicopter systems.
"Having a product developed by the Institute to being integrated into the most important air platform of the Armed Forces is a recognition of the importance of the IEAV", said the Director IEAV, Colonel Aviador Lester de Abreu Faria.
The first version of the software was created in 2009 for flight planning in joint operations. It is also useful for post-flight debriefings for evaluation of results.
Since then, the program has received more than 10 updates always based on the interaction between the developers, the user operators and the Training Command (COMPREP).
