Polish Aviation Museum, June 03, 2020 - On May 21, 2020, the Polish Aviation Museum was enriched with a new exhibit - the PZL Kania helicopter, handed over by the Logistics Bureau of the Police Headquarters.

This helicopter, serial number 900301, reg. SN-51XP was used for many years by the Krakow Police Aviation Section, which has its headquarters in the Museum.

The handover protocol was signed by the Chief of Staff of the Police Headquarters in Krakow, Youth Inspector. Mariusz Mazurek, head of the Police Aviation Section of the Police Staff of the Police Headquarters in Krakow, sub-inspector pil. Łukasz Kochan, technical head of the Police Aviation Section of the Police Staff KWP asp. pcs. Paweł Stoczek and director of the Polish Aviation Museum Krzysztof Radwan.

PZL Kania is a deep modernization of the Mi-2 helicopter, developed in the late 1970s, powered by American engines and equipped with American avionics, originally intended for export to Western countries.

These helicopters were used in Poland by the police aviation and are still used by the Border Guard aviation.

The Police Aviation Section in Krakow used PZL Kania helicopters - first one, then two copies - in the years 1996 - 2014. The museum specimen before arriving in Krakow was operated by the Police Aviation Section of the KWP in Poznań.
