Kopter, October 06, 2021 - Kopter was very pleased to take part, together with its parent company Leonardo, in the Symposium Air Mobility (SAM 2021) organised by the Swiss Aerospace Cluster in Lucerne on the 20th of September.
For our group, it is essential to support such initiatives, as we are fully committed to playing a major role in the Swiss aerospace community in the long term and shaping the future of mobility.
The event gathered a large panel of companies and speakers presenting the new trends and developments in the Aerospace field.
After some welcome words from Marco Viola, CEO at Kopter, Michele Arra, Head of Research & Innovation at Leonardo Helicopters, shared information on current and future projects within the Helicopter Division, including the AW609 and AWHERO programmes.
The day provided as well great networking opportunities.
Congratulations to the Swiss Aerospace Cluster for the perfect organization. We look forward to the next events.

AW09 flight tests move forward in Mollis, Switzerland
During the past months, the AW09 crew made an in-depth evaluation of all improvements installed on P3 early 2021.
Significant data were gathered in handling qualities and performance with a number of aerodynamic modifications tested.
Also, assessments of the human factors confirm that the Garmin cockpit is well suited for the AW09.
Evaluating the aircraft at 16,000ft was a great achievement within the programme in expanding the altitude envelope.
All these tests contribute to the final preparation of PS4 and PS5.
