MH-60S trainers to be upgrade by CAE

CAE, March 07, 2013 - Montreal - CAE today announced it has won a series of services and upgrade contracts during the first two months of its fiscal year 2013 fourth quarter valued at approximately C$90 million. They include contracts to provide C-130 training support services, upgrades for the United States Navy's MH-60S helicopter simulators and training devices, maintenance and support services for the German Armed Forces and a contract extension to provide in-service support services for an undisclosed customer.

"Our large installed base of simulators and training devices around the world continue to provide a steady source of orders for ongoing sustainment, maintenance and support services," said Gene Colabatistto, Group President, Military Products, Training and Services, CAE. "We are also seeing increased opportunities for simulator upgrades and updates as defence forces look for ways to increase the amount of training done in a synthetic environment."

CAE will perform upgrades on U.S. Navy MH-60S operational flight trainers and weapons tactics trainers to increase training system fidelity as well as maintain concurrency with current aircraft upgrades.

The MH-60S training device upgrades include updating the aircraft operational program and aerodynamics model, as well as incorporating updates related to weapons and airborne mine counter measures.
