Boeing, November 16, 2023 - The team at Boeing Mesa, Arizona, recently began production on the first of 24 AH-64E Apache helicopters for Morocco.
Under a contract with the U.S. Army through the U.S. government’s Foreign Military Sales program, Boeing will produce 24 E-model Apaches for Morocco.
Christina Upah, vice president of Attack Helicopter Programs and senior Boeing Mesa site executive said “By acquiring the Apache, Morocco will receive the world’s most advanced, proven attack helicopter that will enhance their defense forces for years to come. Boeing’s partnership with the Kingdom of Morocco spans decades, and I am proud the Apache is now part of this legacy.”
The AH-64E Apache is the latest configuration of the attack helicopter. It is designed and equipped with an open systems architecture including the latest communications, navigation, sensor and weapon systems. It has an improved Modernized Target Acquisition Designation System that provides day, night and all-weather target information, as well as night vision navigation capability. In addition to classifying ground and air targets, the Fire Control Radar has been updated to operate in a maritime environment.
Morocco became the 17th country to acquire the Boeing AH-64 Apache.
