Marine Nationale, August 21, 2015 - On July 17, 2015 NH Industries delivered the last Caiman in standard "Step B" configuration (with non-digital radar) to the French Navy.
This is the fourteen Caiman delivered of 27 ordered by the Navy.
After the execution of preparatory maintenance to commissioning, the aircraft was transferred to the 33F squadron based at naval aviation base Lanvéoc Poulmic on August 12, 2015 bringing to five the number of Caimans assigned to the 33 flottille.
The 33F squadron, part of the Caiman fleet, embark on the FDA and FREMM frigates of the french naval action force to ensure the missions assigned to it: anti-submarine/anti-surface warfare, anti-terrorism, illegal trafficking, search and rescue at sea, assistance for distressed ships, naval logistics and transport of the commando force.
