NHV, March 24, 2024 - March 19, 2024 marks the end of an era at NHV.
NHV’s last MD902 Explorer - the Lima, is sold and has left the hangar towards new adventures in Hungary!
NHV operated the MD Explorer for 20 years between 2001 - 2021 as part of our HEMS operations in France. We had 5 MD Explorers in our fleet serving 4 hospitals in the North of France, however the last 2 airframes were in long term storage since our last HEMS flight in October 2021.
The MD Explorer was a great machine, ahead of its time with a full composite airframe, bearingless rotor system and the unique NOTAR technology. It was our proven workhorse for HEMS operations.
The departure of this last helicopter gives the opportunity to remember all the NHV staff that flew, maintained and supported this helicopter during its time in the NHV fleet.
