Russian Helicopters, February 02, 2022 - The Russian Helicopters Holding Company of Rostec State Corporation delivered six helicopters to PSB Leasing Group for the National Service of Sanitary Aviation (NSSA). Three Ansats and three Mi-8MTV-1s produced by the "Kazan Helicopters" were sent to the country's regions.

The helicopters are supplied under a contract for 66 machines, which was signed a year ago. The first Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter was delivered to the client at the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2021 ahead of schedule.

To date, Rostec's sanitary service has already received 14 helicopters under this contract. At the same time, a total of 22 rotorcraft have already been delivered to NSSA under contracts with the Russian Helicopters Holding Company.

"The development of sanitary aviation improves quality, speed and availability of medical services, especially in remote areas. Deliveries of modern helicopters for NSSA picked up the pace. The helicopters are shipped regularly. Six more rotorcraft that were transferred for the needs of NSSA will be on duty in various regions of the country: Ansats went to Veliky Novgorod, Beslan and Orel, and Mi-8MTV-1s went to Novosibirsk, Petrozavodsk and Barnaul," – said Oleg Yevtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec State Corporation.

The helicopters for sanitary aviation are ready to be equipped with medical modules for transporting patients. For instance, Ansats can be fitted with modules for newborns or patients with coronavirus.

National Service of Sanitary Aviation

Today "Kazan Helicopters" is a key supplier of rotorcraft for the National Service of Sanitary Aviation. By the end of this year, we will supply a total of 66 rotorcraft under existing contracts: 29 Mi-8MTV-1s and 37 Ansats. Many years of experience with these helicopters in sanitary aviation allows us to state their versatility and ease of operation. So, Mi-8 series helicopters are often used in remote and hard-to-reach regions of the country. Ansats, in turn, have demonstrated an excellent performance in urban conditions and in situations where, in case of an accident, it is necessary to evacuate people directly from highway," – said Nikolay Kolesov, Director General of the Russian Helicopters Holding.

"For PSB Leasing, support of modern high-tech aviation products is one of the priority areas of activity. Thanks to the joint work of all participants of this project, JSC "NSSA" receives new equipment into service, which will contribute to the development of the entire system of sanitary aviation in the country," – said Sergey Ogienko, CEO of PSB Leasing.

The Ansat light helicopter is designed to transport one patient accompanied by two medics and is equipped with an electronic display system – the so-called glass cabin. Its design makes it possible to quickly convert the rotorcraft into a cargo version or into a passenger version with a capability of transporting up to 7 people. Ansat can be used in a temperature range of -45 to +50 degrees Celsius, and can fly in the highlands. It can reach a speed of up to 275 km/h with the maximum flight range of up to 505 kilometers. The machine is very convenient in urban conditions.

In turn, the Mi-8MTV-1 multi-purpose helicopters, apart from being ready for the installation of medical modules, are equipped with 22 seats and additional outboard and internal fuel tanks. The helicopter has better flight characteristics due to a more capable power plant, upgraded avionics and changes in the fuselage design. Its maximum speed reaches 250 km/h, and the flight range is 1150 kilometers. The machines have unique flight and operational characteristics and can be used in almost all climatic conditions. The design and equipment of the Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter enables its autonomous operation at unequipped sites.

In 2021, Rostec's NSSA helicopters performed 5020 flights and rescued over 6 thousand patients, including 687 children and 280 infants.
