Helis, June 01, 2018 - According a Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Parti) announcement, the Pakistan Army signed contract for 30 Turkish-built T129 attack helicopters.
The T129 is a license built variant of the Leonardo (AgustaWestland) AW129 Mangusta in service with the Italian Army. The T129 was further developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries as the ATAK with upgraded systems.
The Pakistan Army Aviation operates over 30 Bell AH-1F Cobras and has been looking for various options to enhance the fleet. Already operates Russian-built Mi-35M and also ordered American AH-1Z Vipers
