Helis, June 25, 2020 - The R66 Turbine helicopter number 1000 is being completed at the Robinson Helicopter Company (RHC) factory.
Robinson manufactures, assembles, inspects, and flight tests all of its helicopters at its Torrance, California facility.
The R66 has five seats and a spacious 300 lb / 135 kg capacity baggage compartment. It is powered by a Rolls-Royce RR300 turbine engine, a downrated variant of the original Allison M250. Reliable, economical and easy to maintain, has a two-bladed rotor system and hydraulic controls.
First flew on on November 7, 2007, the R66 gained FAA certification in October 2010 starting deliveries the following month. Last year the global fleet reached one million flight hours.
