Helis, May 11, 2021 - For the first time, an Ejercito del Aire ( Spanish Air Force ) Super Puma helicopter was loaded into a Airbus A400M cargo aircraft.
The transport aircraft traveled to the Balearic Islands to evaluate and certificate the procedure with a Super Puma helicopter of the Ala 49 (49th Wing), Escuadron 801 at Son San Juan air base.
The task was carried out with the assistance of the JMOVA ( Jefatura de Movilidad Area, "Transport command" ) and the CLAEX ( Centro Logistico de Armamento y Experimentacion, "Test and Evaluation Center" )
The four-engine turboprop airplane began service in Spain in 2016 assigned to Ala 31. Since then has demonstrated its ability to transport all types of military vehicles of the Spanish Armed Forces including, last year, an Army Cougar helicopter.
