In 2005, Allied Wings was awarded the
Contracted Flying Training and Support (CFTS) contract to support pilots and navigators training for the
Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). Prime contractor KF Aerospace was joined by subcontractors
Bluedrop Training & Simulation, Canadian Base Operators (CBO) and
Canadian Helicopters (CHL).
Allied Wings established operation at the Southport Airport (near Portage la Prairie, Manitoba) with new facilities, training devices, courseware and four fleets of aircraft (Grob G120, King Air C90, Bell 206 and Bell 412) to provide ground school and simulator instruction, flight instruction and all of the support services for the program.
In 2018, KF Aerospace joined with CAE to create
SkyAlyne to bid on the
Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Program. The Government of Canada awarded the FAcT contract to SkyAlyne in 2024, which will be carried out using
H135 helicopters
