British Forces South Atlantic Islands

Diplomatic relations between Argentina and the UK after the 1982 war were re-established with the Joint Statement signed February 1990 in Madrid (Acuerdo / Tratado de Madrid 1990) in which among other issues established reciprocal information about military movements in an important maritime sector of the South Atlantic (see blue box in map).
