Established 2008 to took over the ambulance helicopter service from the East Frisian islands to the mainland, NHC is a joint venture of SSC Wind, Ostfriesische Flug-Dienst GmbH (OFD) and Heli Aviation. Headquartered in Emden Airport.
In 2011, NHC was the first private air rescue company to carry out offshore rescue flights for the wind farms in the German Bight
As of 2018, the NHC fleet consists of AS365/EC155 helicopters: Two for crew changes and transport flights, one for ambulance flights in the East Frisian Islands region and two for offshore rescue or medical missions
In 2019 was acquired by DRF Luftrettung
