Escadron d’Hélicoptères 03.067 “Parisis” is a long-standing helicopter squadron of the French Air and Space Force, originally formed in 1964 at Base Aérienne 107 Vélizy–Villacoublay, near Paris. Its creation was tied to the reorganization of French rotary-wing assets after the Algerian War, when a permanent helicopter capability was needed for metropolitan defense and rapid reaction missions.
Over the decades, the unit has operated different helicopter types, including the Alouette III, Puma, and more recently the AS555 Fennec, adapting to evolving mission requirements and technologies. Its presence at BA 107 placed it in close proximity to Paris, which made it particularly important for government support, security, and liaison operations.
Beyond its symbolic role near the capital, EH 03.067 has consistently provided tactical transport, reconnaissance, air support, and training for both domestic and overseas missions. Its crews have supported counter-terrorism operations, participated in air defense alert duties, and contributed to France’s overseas commitments in Africa and beyond.
The squadron’s versatility lies in its ability to operate across a wide spectrum—from VIP transport to operational deployments in demanding environments. This dual role, both ceremonial and combat-ready, has made Escadron d’Hélicoptères 03.067 a highly visible and reliable component of French rotary-wing aviation for more than half a century.
