Formed at Gosport in Dec 1943 as a fixed wing unit and disbanded there in Dec 1945. It became a number plate for the Development and Trials Sqd at Middle Wallop.
On 1 Aug 2021, it was reformed from an expanded 7 Flight at Seria, in Brunei. In autumn 2022, its role was taken over by RAF 1563 (Brunei) Flight.
