Established 1992, US Army Research Laboratory (ARL) is in charge of Computational and Information Sciences (CISD), Human Research and Engineering (HRED), Sensors and Electron Devices (SEDD), Survivability/Lethality Analysis (SLAD), Vehicle Technology (VTD), and Weapons and Materials Research (WMRD).
Major facilities includes:
- Adelphi Laboratory Center (ALC) in Adelphi, Maryland.
- Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
- Research Triangle Park, North Carolina,
- White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico,
- NASA’s Glenn Research Center, Ohio
- NASA’s
Langley Research Center, Virginia.
The ARL is now an element of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (
DEVCOM).
