Kansas City is the largest city in the state of Missouri.
Police aviation established November 1967 with 3 Hughes 300B helicopters. In 1972 a facility/hangar was constructed near I-435 and Manchester Traffic way. In 1995 they received 4 ex US Army Hughes OH-6A. By 2001 all of the Hughes 300B helicopters were sold with 3 OH-6A remaining in service. A fourth arrived in 2008. In September 2012 all were replaced by three brand new MD500E
