Conducting FCLPs to LHA pad along New River using NVGs. Pilot-in-command (PIC) attempted to turn off anti-collision lights, but inadvertently turned on red cockpit dome lights*, shutting down NVGs
causing both pilots to lose external reference to ground. (*Note: PIC is height challenged and used kneeboard to slap at switch.) Neither pilot attempted to fly wave-off profile using instruments and acft impacted water.
