“ I was on this helo when it went down. We had a partial tail rotor failure. Broke a pitch change link due to a bad track and balance. The pilots tried to land on the ship with a tail wind. I was the crewchief and I had more time in this helo type than the pilots. They were prior H-46 pilots. Should headed for the beach. It's in 146 ft off the coast of Australia. Karma came in here the guy who did the track and balance was on board! ”
