One of my best friends, CPL Robert Wiesse, was a TAD door gunner on this aircraft. The squadron had just come down from Phu Bai and moved into one side of our hanger,. I talked to Robert about getting together for a beer and we set a date after his upcoming SEAR mission for a little beer drinking session. About a week later, while in the chow hall, a former HMM-261 squadron mate (? Bunny) asked me if I had heard from Wiesse (so I thought) . I said no, we are suppose to meet tonight to have a beer. He then asks me again and this time I heard "Have you heard about CPL Wiesse?" I said no and his response f up my world. 16 Feb has been a day of reverence ever since. Miss you Robert. HMM-261  | |||
