Production began in 1978, although is now in decline following its peak in 1995. Gas is sent to the Alpha platform for subsequent export to the Irish mainland. 
Production ceased towards the end of 2019 and Kinsale Bravo and its undersea infrastructure (together with its upstream connections to the undersea Southwest Kinsale and Ballycotton gas fields) have now entered a c 3 year period of decommissioning.
