Began production in 1978, although is now in decline following its peak in 1995. Gas from here is combined with that from the Bravo platform and from the sub-sea production structures in the Ballycotton and Seven Heads fields and pumped ashore to the Inch Terminal in County Cork.
Production ceased towards the end of 2019. Kinsale Alpha and its undersea infrastructure (together with its upstream connections to Kinsale Bravo and the undersea Seven Heads gas field) have now entered a c 3 year period of decommissioning.
