History of this Location | |
Opened as a British Army garrison outpost in 1952 near the site of a WWII refugee camp, although planning for the new site had been going on since 1949. The objective was to consolidate 4 nearby camps onto one soverign base site and protect the air defence and communication station at Agios Nikolaos.
