Ithaca Energy FPF1 was converted by Petrofac at the Remontowa Shipyard in Gdansk and towed out after commissioning tests to the eastern part of the Stella field, arriving on 19 Aug 2016. It takes feeds from the Harrier Field (gas condensate) to the south and the Vorlich Field to the north. While initial exports were by tanker, from 2017, gas has been sent via the CATS pipeline and oil via a 45km spur to the Norpipe (which exports from Ekofisk to Teesside in the UK).
The Stella field was discovered in 1979 by Shell in the Central Graben structure of the Central North Sea. Gas condensate was found in the Paleocene Andrew Sandstone, with oil in the underlying Ekofisk Chalk.
