Naval Air Station Anacostia was established 1918 immediately north of Bolling Air Force Base (KBOF) and served until 1962 when it was redesignated as a Naval Support Facility and remain used by helicopters.
In 2010 it was merged with the Air Force base to form Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling.
