Hywind Tampen is a Floating Wind Farm c 65nm off the Norwegian coast. 11 turbines covering almost 40 sq km were commissioned in Aug 2023 but the configuration is unusual in that not all generating capacity is being delivered onshore; some of it connects to the Snorre and Gullfaks platform complexes, to provide c 35% of their combined energy needs. The wind farm is controlled from a remote station at Skipavik-Gulen.
