The Cecile field was discovered in 2000, c 5 nm south west of the Siri field, with the reservoir in Palaeocene sandstones of the Siri Fairway structure in the Norwegian-Danish Basin. Cecile was producing by 2003 and sending its crude oil to a seafloor storage system, beneath the Siri platform.
