RAF Moreton-in-Marsh opened in 1941 as a Bomber Command base and was eventually closed by the RAF in 1955. Training for military firefighters was conducted for a time.
The Fire Service began to build facilities in 1966 and the Fire Service National Training College opened on the site in 1968. In 2013, ownership passed to the outsourcing company Capita.
