In 1976, the Nostell Aviation Museum opened here in a joint effort by Lord St Oswald, a local ATC unit and the South Yorkshire Aviation Society. It later closed and the collection was dispersed.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance moved its Leeds / Bradford (South and West operations) base here, during Nov 2013. The first flight took place on 28 Nov.
