The Ula field was discovered in 1978, the platform was installed in Jun 1985 and has been producing oil since Oct 1986. Production is assisted by water and gas injections from the Butch, Tambar and Blane fields into the Upper Jurassic Ula formation at c 3.3km depth. The platform is in c 70m of water. Oil is piped to Teeside (UK) via the Ekofisk collection hub.
