Cod was a gas / condensate field discovered in 1968 at the western edge of the Norwegian sector of the Central North Sea. The reservoir was the Palaeocene Forties Formation turbidite sandstones. It began production in Dec 1977 and sent its product out via Ekofisk. Although not exhausted, production ceased in 1998 and the platform was removed in 2013.
