In RTAF service, the Sikorksy S-58 / H-34 was known as the B.H4, 63 having served from 1962-80. Survivors still noted at various bases and RTAF Museum. The RTAF also operated the Sikorsky S-58T, known locally as the B.H4k, some 19 serving from 1978-2003; 18 locally-converted from H-34; 19th transferred from Kaset.
My father was with Sikorsky aircraft and was assigned as an advisor to the RTAF from 1969-1971 in Bangkok. We lived there in off-base housing. Their base was at Bang Sue in Bangkok. There is a RTAF squadron still there. I believe there was a squadron at Don Muang RTAFB also but am not sure. He used to help me climb up the left side and I could climb into the cockpit with the pilot. Quite a thrill for a six year old kid.
