On May 2011 was announced that two Pennsylvania-built AW139s configured for SAR missions were bought by the US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) for a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to the Egyptian air force. The two aircraft were delivered on April 2012

AW139 delivered to Egyptian Air Force, 11-Apr-12 : AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, is pleased to announce that AgustaWestland North America, Inc. has delivered AW139 aircraft to the Egyptian Air Force via its contract with U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Contracting Center for Foreign Military Sales. “We’re fully aware of the team it takes to put these aircraft into the hands of our international partners,” said Jeffrey Young, director of the Security Assistance Management Directorate at the recent delivery ceremony.
