Based on the 5-bladed Bk117D3, the Light Utility Helicopter Streitkrafte (military) LUH SK was first announced at ILA 2022 as a proposal for Bundeswehr light support helicopter. 55 units expected.
In March 2023 it was announced plan to acquire 82 civilian H145 helicopters worth €4B and convert 24 of them into H145M to replace the Tiger
In December 2023 was signed contract for 62 (+20 options) H145M based on the H145D3 including 5 for the Luftwaffe.
In November 2024 Airbus delivered the first of 57 H145M Leichter Kampfhubschrauber (light combat helicopter, LKH) equipped with HForce system for training, reconnaissance, special forces operations and light attack missions.
In November 2025, it was announced that plans are in place to purchase the remaining 20 helicopters by 2027, completing the total of 82 units originally planned.

Germany Confirms Order for 20 More H145M Helicopters
