Helis, October 20, 2018 - Last month, the Leonardo plant located in Philadelphia, USA assembled and delivered the 250th AW119Kx aircraft.
The helicopter has been accepted by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP).
The AW119Kx is a light single engine helicopter with the largest cabin in its class. Powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6B-37A turboshaft of 1002 shp can carry 1 pilot and 7 passengers. The max take off weight is of 2,850 kg (6,283 lb).
Derived from the globally successful AW109 with the addition of a skid-type landing gear, the AW119Kx retains features typical of light twin-engine helicopters such as system redundancy.
Unveiled in October 2012, the AW119Kx variant benefits from a long range capability thanks to a high fuel capacity (up to 870 l) and a state-of-the-art Garmin G1000HTM glass cockpit.
Over 300 AW119 helicopters have been ordered to date in almost 40 countries by over 120 customers.
