The recently acquired Airbus H135 of the Brazilian Navy completed qualifications exercise aboard survey ship before their first deployment for the Antarctic logistics campaign next October under operation OPERANTAR XXXIX





Brazilian Navy H135 Prepares for First Antarctic Mission
Brazilian Navy, September 14, 2020 - From September 1 to 4, the 1st General Employment Helicopter Squadron (EsqdHU-1), with the helicopter Airbus H135 serial N-7091, local named UH-17, carried out training on board the hydroceanographic survey ship “Vital de Oliveira” , near the city of Arraial do Cabo, RJ.

On that occasion, the embarked air detachment, designated for OPERANTAR XXXIX, had the opportunity to carry out pick-up, vertrep, qualification and requalification of landing on board exercises, and removal and replacement of the blades, in order to prepare for the mission to the white continent starting next October.

The newly arrived N-7091 aircraft was able to make its first boarding with an overnight stay, increasing its reliability in relation to the planned air activities, in addition to promoting better preparation of pilots and mechanics, maintaining its ability to carry out various types of operations.
