Eagle Copters, November 11, 2016 - Eagle Copters Ltd. marked another important milestone recently, with the delivery of another Eagle 407HP helicopter converted by replacing the legacy engine on a customer’s Bell 407 airframe.
Powered by the Honeywell HTS900 engine, the Eagle 407HP was the first converted for Helicopter Express of Atlanta, Ga. It will be used to support firefighting missions throughout the United States.
“We used the exclusive Eagle Copters conversion kit to replace the standard engine with the next-generation Honeywell HTS900, which will dramatically improve its performance in order to help Helicopter Express achieve its critical missions and continue differentiating themselves in their marketspace,” said Stephane Arsenault, vice-president, sales and marketing for Eagle Copters.
“This particular conversion was extremely streamlined as our production facility is completely functional. The purpose built facility is housed in our maintenance, repair and overhaul facility in Calgary,” he continued.
“We now have the unique option for customers to bring their helicopter or purchase one already converted. We’re delighted to demonstrate our OEM-level [original equipment manufacturer-level] capabilities on the Helicopter Express conversion, which opens the door for us to upgrade engines to the HTS900 on other customer-owned aircraft.”
In the future, Eagle Copters plans to offer conversions in other locations, including at affiliated completion centers in Australia and Chile, making it more convenient and cost-effective for customers to upgrade their aircraft.
