SANTIAGO, Chile — Ecocopter by Helisul and BBosch have introduced Human External Cargo (HEC) technology to Chile, enabling specialized helicopter operations for the inspection, maintenance and repair of energized high-voltage transmission lines while reducing intervention times by up to 80%.

The partnership combines BBosch's expertise in electrical engineering and transmission infrastructure with Ecocopter by Helisul's experience in complex helicopter operations. Using specially equipped helicopters, certified technicians can be transported directly onto transmission towers and power lines, allowing work to be carried out safely without interrupting electricity supply.

Traditionally, maintenance on transmission lines in remote areas required lengthy ground access, complex logistics or dedicated maintenance windows. HEC operations allow technicians to be inserted directly at the work site, improving the efficiency of inspections, installations, maintenance and repairs on energized transmission infrastructure.

Ecocopter by Helisul operates Airbus H145 helicopters with pilots specially trained for complex aerial work. The aircraft can precisely position personnel and equipment on transmission infrastructure, particularly in mountainous regions, mining districts and other locations with limited ground access.
