Helis, May 22, 2021 - Turkish Aerospace Industry (TAI) has announced that the Turkish Light Utility Helicopter (TLUH), the T-625 Gokbey, will undertake full-scale static testing.
These step is necessary in order to test critical parts before performing flight activities.
Gokbey is the country's first indigenous new generation multirole helicopter, a twin-engine, six-ton class machine designed in response to a growing market demand.
With the Gokbey helicopter, the company will not only perform the biggest test in the company's history in terms of volume, but also will mark a first for the country.
The T-625 program started in 2013 as Özgün (Turkish for "original", or "indigenous"). The prototype, serial TC-HLP, first flew on September 6, 2018.
According to a statement issued by TAI, the company will continue to work within the framework of the “National Technology Move”. Launched in 2017, the National Technology Move goal is to transform the national technology industry through local and unique concepts created by its own people.
