Scandinavian AirAmbulance, June 01, 2018 - The Västra Götaland region's new ambulance helicopter is running!
After just over half a year since the contract been signed, we were able to start business in Göteborg today with a new AW169.
The punctual deployment follows after an intensive preparation work with the region.
The helicopter replaces the well-known model S-76 which has faithfully served the region since 2002.
With a state-of-the-art Leonardo AW169, the base is now well-equipped for the future, increasing both the capacity of the base and its helicopter.
With Gothenburg as a new base in Babcock Scandinavian AirAmbulance, we currently operate a total of ten ambulance helicopter bases of which seven are in Sweden.
