Global Medical Response, November 07, 2023 - ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Guardian Flight will open its first Alaska-based communications center on November 6.
Located in Anchorage, the new communications center will serve as a hub for coordinating emergent and non-emergent air medical transports for the nine air medical bases Guardian Flight operates in the state.
Delvinee Dillingham, regional director for Guardian Flight said “We are excited to bring this aspect of our services closer to home. This is a significant step forward in improving our communication efficiency to achieve faster decision-making and responsiveness, and it will benefit the patients and communities we serve.”
In addition to creating operational efficiencies, the new communications center will bring greater understanding and knowledge of the unique logistical and weather-related challenges experienced across the state. The communications specialists and the communications center manager at the Anchorage operation are local Alaskans who have significant knowledge of the state and are specially trained in air medical flight coordination and following.
