HAL New Plant at Tumakuru for IMRH
HAL, February 25, 2019 - Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Central Public Works Department (CPWD) at Aero India 2019 for the execution of stage 2 infrastructure development at HAL’s Greenfield helicopter facility in Tumakuru.

The MoU was signed by GVS Bhaskar, chief executive officer, helicopter complex, and Rajesh Jain, chief project manager, HAL project zone, CPWD in the presence of R Madhavan, CMD, HAL.

The stage 2 works include development of infrastructure for structural assembly and equipping of helicopters at Tumakuru.

The project will be executed in a phased manner.

The new helicopter manufacturing plant will come up at Biderehalla Kaval, Gubbi Taluk, Tumakuru district and spread over 615 acres of land allotted by the government of Karnataka.

The plant is meant mainly for the production of the Indian Multi Role Helicopte (IMRH) and the 3-tonne class Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), and is expected to provide at least 4,000 local jobs.
