GPMS Foresight MX HUMS Approved for Bell 429 in India
India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has validated the FAA STC for the GPMS Foresight MX Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) on Bell 429 helicopters operating in India.
GPMS International announced that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has validated the FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the installation of Foresight MX HUMS on the Bell 429 helicopter in India.
The approval opens the door for India’s growing Bell 429 fleet to adopt predictive Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) technology, giving operators access to real-time aircraft health monitoring, exceedance tracking, automated Rotor Track and Balance, and predictive maintenance insights designed to reduce downtime and improve operational availability.
Several operators have already ordered the system and are preparing for installation following the DGCA validation.

Operators are increasingly recognizing that HUMS is no longer just a safety enhancement. It’s becoming an operational and financial necessity. We expect strong adoption across the Indian Bell 429 fleet, which we believe will ultimately expand into additional aircraft models and operators throughout the region.”
Foresight MX wirelessly transmits aircraft data after each flight, providing maintainers and operators with immediate access to actionable insights through a secure browser-based platform. The system is designed to help operators move from reactive maintenance to a more predictive and proactive approach.
The DGCA validation further expands GPMS’s growing international presence as operators worldwide continue adopting HUMS technology to improve safety, increase aircraft availability, and lower direct operating costs.
