Airbus Helicopters, June 17, 2016 - On June 17, 2016, the Los Angeles Police Department’s airborne law enforcement program celebrated its 60th anniversary.
The program began with one helicopter in 1956.
Today has a fleet of 12 AS350 AStar helicopters.
Today, the Air Support Division (ASD) is the largest municipal airborne law enforcement operation in the world, and boasts the nation’s largest rooftop heliport.
