Luxembourg Air Rescue, July 06, 2023 - Luxembourg - The Luxembourg Air Rescue Group is pleased to announced the arrival of the first Airbus H145D3 rescue helicopter within LAR Group.
The helicopter is said to be ideally suited to LAR’s wide range of operations and is used for rescue missions in Luxembourg and the Greater Region. A second helicopter of the same type will join the fleet in the autumn.
Over the next few years, LAR plans to gradually replace its current MD902 helicopters, which are approaching the end of their service life.
The addition of the H145D3 helicopter is a further step toward modernising the LAR fleet.
The first stage was marked by the acquisition of a Bombardier Challenger 605 ambulance jet in 2021, allowing for longer range repatriations and more flexible operational capabilities.
The upgrade of its fleet will enable LAR Group to maintain the high quality and performance of air rescue and ambulance services for its patients in Luxembourg, the Greater Region and worldwide.
Employing around 190 staff, Luxembourg Air Rescue Group currently operates six rescue helicopters, including one Airbus H145D3 and five MD902s. Its fleet of ultramodern ambulance aircraft comprises one Challenger 605 and three Learjet 45s, operated under the brand European Air Ambulance.
