Safran, October 20, 2020 - PARIS - Safran Electronics & Defense has signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters, prime contractor, for the supply of new generation Euroflir ™ 410 to equip the ten NH90-TTH Caïman helicopters to standard 2 intended for French Special Forces.
This new standard will ensure all maneuver and assault missions.
Capable of detecting and identifying threats from several kilometers away, the new generation Euroflir ™ 410 optronic systems will enable French special forces to strengthen their operational capacities and accomplish their most complex missions, day or night, in very severely degraded weather conditions.
Developed and produced in France by Safran, the Euroflir ™ 410 is compact and modular and provides unrivaled observation performance, whatever the visibility conditions, thanks in particular to the integration of a very long range multispectral telescope and to a very efficient stabilization of the line of sight.

With this selection, Safran confirms its position as European technological leader in the particularly demanding segment of on-board optronics.
Ten NH90 TTH Standard 2 will be delivered to the 4th RHFS (Special Forces Helicopter Regiment) from 2025 and will gradually replace the Army PUMAs, in accordance with the latest military programming law of the French administration.
